Once a year a cervical smear is taken. It is then evaluated by a specialized laboratory, detecting any change in these cells.
Beside other benefits, it is the best tool to detect precancerous conditions and hidden, small tumors that may lead to cervical cancer. These precancerous conditions and -if detected early- cervical cancer can be cured.
I will inform you if the Pap test shows any irregularity. But please note that mostly changes in the cells do not necessarily mean cancer, and not even the threat of, but just that more frequent examinations are required.
It is therefore important that patients inform us about any changes in personal datas like change of email address or phone number.
